Jesus: The Believer’s Inheritance

It is fascinating to observe when people talk about inheritance, ones mind would immediately cater properties, wills, houses, jewelries, and other material things. All of which are centered on material temporal things.   In 1 Peter 1:4 , although The Apostle Peter used the term “inheritance” once in his letter, Apostle Paul on the other hand, mentioned this term in his letters several times. ( Eph_1:14 , Eph_1:18 , Eph_5:5 , Col_3:24 ,) But what is so significant about this particular emphasis of Peter? After all, he made a brief description of the inheritance (verse 4-5) a believer will obtain now that he is part of God’s family.   The term “inheritance” is not something new among Jewish ears. Going back to the OT, when God divided the promised land among the 12 tribes of Israel, every tribe received a portion of the land as their inheritance, except for the tribe of Levi…”the priestly tribe”. They were the only tribe that didn’t get one. God’s reason for doing so is interesting. Th

"Remembering 9/11" - Northside's 2nd Worship Service

Today we experienced once again the goodness of our Lord — that He is indeed the Lord of the Harvest.

By the time our worship began, our number matched last week’s attendance of 22.  However, this Sunday, 11 were 1st-time visitors and 5 were from a newly-saved family who returned from last Sunday (more photos below)! The remaining 6 consisted of my family and I, together with Anna’s parents and nephew.

After the service, one visiting couple even treated us to lunch and what a treat it was to be able to talk more about the Lord and His Word.  Please pray for this precious couple and the others who visited.

The message was on Luke 24:13-27 entitled, “Remembering 9/11: What We Can Learn from God’s Word.”  As we journeyed with the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, we saw how Jesus had turned their despair into hope. The resurrected Christ, “beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, [ ] explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures” (Luke 24:27)… And so, as we remembered 9/11, we were reminded that in this world of sin where despair is inevitable and tragedies, certain, we need the true peace and hope that only Christ can give.  Read The Story.

We thank our Sending Church (SVBC),  GARBC, and each one of you who continue to pray for us in this new church planting ministry.  May the seed sown in hearts today bear fruit.  Indeed, as you pray, we can rejoice as co-laborers together in the Lord’s harvest in which He grants us the privilege to take part!
